Communications Terms and Conditions

(Email, Telephone, and SMS/Text Messaging)

Consent to Communicate

By providing your email address, telephone number(s), or mobile number(s) to The New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation (NMEAF), you expressly consent to receive communications from us using those contact methods, as permitted by applicable law. These communications may include, but are not limited to, information regarding your account, loan servicing, repayment options, disclosures, notices, customer service responses, reminders, and other informational or administrative messages related to our services.

Consent to receive communications is not a condition of loan approval or repayment, except where such communications are required by law.

Email Communications

NMEAF may communicate with you via email using the email address you provide to us. Email communications may include account-related information, responses to inquiries, notices, disclosures, and, where permitted by law, informational or marketing communications.

You may opt out of non-required promotional or marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in such emails. Opting out of promotional emails will not affect our ability to send you transactional, servicing, or legally required communications.

Telephone Communications (Calls)

By providing a telephone number to NMEAF, you consent to receive calls from us at that number, including calls made using an automatic telephone dialing system and/or prerecorded or artificial voice messages, as permitted by law. Calls may be placed to your residential, mobile, or other telephone numbers for purposes including, but not limited to:

  • Account servicing and support
  • Loan repayment and assistance options
  • Responses to your inquiries
  • Required notices or disclosures

Standard call charges may apply based on your telephone service provider and plan.

SMS/Text Messaging

If you provide a mobile phone number, you consent to receive SMS or text messages from NMEAF for informational, servicing, and account-related purposes, as permitted by law. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out of SMS/text messages at any time by replying STOP to a message, or by contacting us using the information provided below. After opting out, you may receive a final confirmation message. Opting out of SMS/text messages will not prevent us from communicating with you through other lawful methods.

Updating Contact Information

You are responsible for providing accurate and current contact information and for promptly notifying us of any changes to your email address or telephone number(s). Communications sent to the most recent contact information you have provided will be deemed delivered.

Revocation of Consent

You may revoke your consent to receive certain communications at any time, subject to legal and regulatory requirements. Revocation of consent will not apply to communications that are legally required or necessary to service your account.
