Eight $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2019. Scholarship recipient selection is based on the student’s desire to create a better New Mexico through educational attainment. This is exemplified through the student’s family, school, community, and academic ability, as well as the quality of the required essay.

Discuss higher education (New Mexico colleges, universities, and trade schools) and what role they play in the future of New Mexico. Essay is 5,000 characters with spaces maximum.
