  • 2019: 50.2% Completion (11,078 of 22,075 students) 

  • 2018: 50.6% Completion (10,964 of 21,687 students)
In order to get a 10% increase in FAFSA completions statewide, this friendly FAFSA completion competition is open to every high school in NM.

High School Contest Details:

  • Highest percentage of increases in FAFSA Completions for October 1, 2019 – April 3, 2020 compared to October 1, 2018 – April 3, 2020
  • Schools segmented by the 5 NMAA Classifications and get to win money for their school awarded in May 2020. If there is a tie, the winners will be selected by random drawing.
    • 5A=1,300+ =$1,000
    • 4A=550-1,299 =$1,000 (2 prizes)
    • 3A=235-549 = $500
    • 2A=100-234 = $250
    • 1A=1-99 = $200
What School Participation Entails:
  • Each participating school will have their data displayed on our NM FAFSA Tracker here
  • Data will be updated bi-weekly and is obtained from FSA and the Form Your Future FAFSA tracker 
  • Participating schools agree to have their school name and FAFSA stats publicized and used in press conferences
  • Winning schools agree to host a celebration media event on site coordinated in May
